Jenny Makros

Jenny Makros is the Director of Living Potential Psychology and a Consulting Psychologist. She is registered with The Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. Jenny is a PBA registered supervisor, registered Medicare practitioner, and a qualified trainer and educator. Jenny has extensive experience working as a psychologist and as an educator and trainer in private and public mental health and educational settings. Currently, in addition to running a private practice she holds a senior psychology position in a major public health service in Victoria, Australia. Jenny has had extensive experience working with people who have experienced a broad range of challenging life circumstances and mental health issues. Jenny works with her clients to not only alleviate negative symptoms but also to identify and pursue their life goals and aspirations that make life meaningful, rewarding and joyous.
Jenny draws on a number of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to tailor treatments that meet her client’s specific needs. She is a skilled practitioner in Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and has studied and trained in Mindfulness-based practices. Jenny teaches mindfulness-based strategies to her clients and facilitates mindfulness meditation groups for individuals and organisations. Jenny also draws on Positive Psychology theory, research and techniques to assist her clients in advancing their lives beyond problem resolution and into the domain of positive human experience.
Through her clinical training and broad experience working in clinical and non-clinical, public and private settings, Jenny is able to accurately assess client needs and make appropriate recommendations regarding what is likely to be of greatest benefit to them.
